Rule!63 Wufei
Wufei was chosen to be the wife of the heir of the Long Clan of L5 when he turned fifteen, six months before her own birthday. Her husband took on the name Nataku after the clan's guardian, a move Wufei found to be arrogant. The pair were at odds since childhood, and marriage did nothing to smooth relations between them. They were only married for a short time before their colony was attacked and Nataku went out to face the enemy. Refusing to just sit back, Wufei took the unfinished Shenlong and went after him. Trying to protect Wufei, Nataku took a fatal hit and died in Wufei's arms, the two at last at peace with each other.
With her husband's death, Wufei promised his memory that she would bring about his ideals of justice. She cut her hair and bound her chest to pass as a man, knowing that she could not fight this war as a woman. She hid the fact from the other pilots and their allies throughout the war, only revealing the fact a few years after when a memorial was erected to her destroyed colony, when she arrived at the dedication once more dressed as a woman.
Note: I am not playing Wufei as a trans* character. She is a woman who identifies as one but hid the fact for the war.
